Acoustic Floor

Acoustic flooring can significantly reduce impact sound transmitted directly between floors.

We have designed a high performance acoustic underlay, Amadeus Impact Mat (AIM), available in 2 thicknesses and commonly known as AIM 15 and the higher density AIM 18.

Amadeus Impact Mat is an easy to fit composite comprising of a resilient Class '0' acoustic foam layer, sandwiched between 2 sheets of 5kg/m² or 10kg/m² sound deadening barrier mat made from semi-rigid rubber.

Most frequently used to reduce impact or airborne sound in both commercial and industrial buildings, our acoustic underlay is fire-rated, and can be cut to size with a sharp knife to be easily installed by way of staggered joints. The underlay panels can be laid directly onto the sub-floor with the finished floor system secured directly over top.
Acoustic insulation can be greatly improved by also ensuring the voids between floor joists are insulated with an appropriate mineral wool.
