Royal Albert Hall Invests in Opus 1 Musicians’ Posture Chairs
We are delighted to announce that the Royal Albert Hall has joined our portfolio of highly prestigious UK concert hall clients following their purchase of 200 Opus 1 musicians’ posture chairs.
The Opus 1 musicians’ posture chair was designed to offer maximum support to a wide range of musicians and has been recommended by Alexander Technique and ergonomic specialists. Investing in their visiting musicians’ comfort and well-being, the Royal Albert Hall has purchased a suite of 200 Opus 1 chairs upholstered in beautiful, rich Cinnabar fabric and hammered gold finish to complement their classic livery. In addition to the chairs they also purchased 20 purpose-built Opus 1 trolleys to enable their stage hands to store, transport and protect the chairs safely and easily.
The celebrated Grade I listed venue, situated on the northern edge of South Kensington, was first opened in 1871 and, today, holds over 380 events in their main auditorium and more than 690 events beyond the main stage, allowing an incredible 1.7 million people to enjoy live experiences each year. And, this year, we were thrilled to see our Opus 1 chairs supporting musicians young and old, famous and flourishing, during the worlds’ greatest classical music festival – the BBC Proms.
Ollie Jeffery, Head of Show Management for the Royal Albert Hall said:
“We are extremely pleased with our new chairs. We chose the Opus 1 following consultation with our musicians and peers and we are not disappointed. The classic design sits perfectly on our stage and Amadeus were happy to accommodate our fabric and finish requirements that complement the well known Royal Albert Hall red and gold. The chairs look incredibly smart on stage and we find the trolleys easy to manoeuvre even when fully loaded.”
