Budget Multi-Purpose Mobile Stage

In response to an increasing demand for the availability of a fully demountable stage system with Proscenium Arch we are delighted to introduce the Alu Compact system.

For the purpose of this exercise we have selected an average sized structure that will comfortably accommodate all manner of productions from Pantomimes to mighty Choral productions, from Fashion Shows to weighty Orchestral pieces, from The Beatles to Beethoven, in fact there is almost no limit to the productions you will be able to undertake on this amazingly flexible multi-purpose fully de-mountable staging.

To begin with a series of Alu Combi or Alu Rapid decks are positioned to form the flat stage. The advantage of the Combi system is that it incorporates integral scissor action legs. These can be set at 5 heights from 200mm up to 1000mm. So far as the Rapid system is concerned any height legs can be purchased to suit individual production requirements. At this point the Steps/Balustrade's and Safety Rails are attached to the aluminium accessory rail, this is an integral part of each deck.

The architects drawing depicts a typical structure. The front and rear aluminium beams and cross members are attached to the perimeter of the flat stage ready to accept curtains and lights. This construction consists of multi-chamber profiled aluminium columns and beams which provide the easy-running curtain drawing system. This is designed to be totally self supporting (only bolted to stage edge) the Alu Compact construction provides a complete system for the support of all the main and side curtains together with light hangars and provision for the incorporation of sets, decorations, sliding partitions, etc.

In these two pictures both curtains and stage front facia panels can be seen on a completed project. The alternative to facia panels, and generally the most popular choice are Valence Curtains. They are both less expensive and easier to apply and remove attached as they are by Velcro.

Budget Price Guide

To provide a Proscenium Arch Stage with curtains and all accessories except lighting based upon a dimension of 8 metres × 4 metres - please ask for an up to date quote, that will include UK delivery, assembly and demount instructions and tuition. Any size of stage possible, the above is a guide.

This price could include the following:

• 20 No: 2m × 1m Alu Rapid decks formed from 22mm brown stained beech wood veneered blockboard.
• 20 No: Sets of aluminium legs cut to form a 1000mm stage height.
• 02 No: Sets of 4 steps (multi-height) with black furnished tubular steel frame and timber treads.
• 14 No: Infilled Handrails @ 1000mm long c/w clamps in black finished tubular steel.
• 02 No: Balustrades for steps in black finished tubular steel.
• 14 No: 2 column leg clamps.
• 12 No: 4 column leg clamps.
• 05 No: Valence Curtains @ 2000mm deep × 2000mm long in Velvet Velour. (Fabric colour swatch on request)
• 02 No: Sets of Heavy Duty roller bearing rubber tyred/nylon wheels for Storage/Transportation.

This equipment covers all requirements for base storage structure. So far as the Proscenium Arch and related accessories are concerned, the following represents what will be supplied within the budget price:

• 1 No: Front Beam 10,000mm long complete with all necessary connectors and side main curtain hangers. The same for Rear Beam.
• 2 No: Side Beams @ 4000mm long.
• 4 No: Side Curtains Hangers @ 1000mm long.
• 2 No: Lighting Hangers.
• 1 No: Set of lifting gear.
• 1 No: Set of curtain pulling equipment.

• 60 Sq. metres main curtains in Velvet Velour c/w hangers.
• 10 lin metres curtains sofit in Velvet Velour c/w hangers.
• 17 Sq. metres side main curtains in Velvet Velour c/w hangers.
• 60 Sq. metres back drop curtains in Molton Black c/w hangers.
• 10 lin metres back drop curtains sofit in Molton Black c/w hangers.
• 40 Sq. metres side curtains (hangers) in Molton Black.

Building & Demounting & Storage

It will take approximately half a day to build this structure and a little less to take it apart and store it. This estimate is based upon there being two people available. Our price includes the provision of tools to complete the job!

The wheels which form part of this "package" are used to form the transport/storage trolley. This applies to Alu Rapid platforms. Each set of wheels can accomodate 20 stage decks plus legs, this means that 40 square metres of stage can be stored in a space of just 2 metres x 1 metre....truly ingenious. The Combi model type has a purpose built trolley as the legs are integral.
